Hey, I'm Joshua Storost. I study at HPI and have a passion for Human-Computer-Interaction
I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree at Hasso-Plattner-Institute. Through self-learning, school education and my work as a working student, I have acquired problem solving skills and experience as a developer in multiple programming languages. Using these skills, I have worked on projects in the development and usage of 3D modelling Software, videogame development and web development.
With my prior achievements in Human-Computer-Interaction and programming, I am excited to further improve my skills and pursue a successful career in the development of usable productivity software.
The project is about creating devices and mechanics to automate the calibration process for laser cutters.
During the project I improved the speed and size of the automatic calibration pipeline for creating markings on wood, acrylic and other materials with a laser cutter. I additionally added mechanics to fit different calibration pieces into a compact and aesthetic space for physical examination.

The project is about improving the 3d editor kyub which is used to create 3d models in an intuitive workflow.
During the project, I build tools to improve the user interaction with 2d objects like images or cutouts on the surface of the 3d objects.
The tools I build include better options for placing, moving and resizing these 2d objects.

For a bachelor's thesis, I helped to build the world for a vr-game in unity, focusing on level design and environment creation.
For this, I designed and modeled new 3d low-poly assets in blender to complement existing asset packs.

During the HackHPI 2025 we developed an interactive webapp, that takes real anonymized hostpital data and creates an interactive web view, that enables caregivers to quickly understand the patients condition. During this project I was responsible for the backend development and the cleaning of the very unoptimised data.

During the HackHPI 2025 our team combined data from vbb, videos of the inside of trains and computer vision to make real-time estimations about the utilization of public transit.
During this project I helped with building the react frontend to display the data in a user-friendly way.Technologies: JavaScript, React
